Guatemala City Tour Half Day
From your hotel you begin your tour of the city; you will visit the Relief Map, a scale model of Guatemala, a genuine engineering feat. From there you will go to the Central Plaza, where a stop is made to visit the National Palace, The Metropolitan Cathedral and the Central Market, there you can find a huge variety of handicrafts and regional textiles. As you continue your tour to the southern end of the city along the Avenida Las Americas you will be taken on a visit to La Cañada, one of many modern residential areas. Return to your hotel.

Antigua Guatemala Half Day
You will depart from your hotel early in the afternoon to the ¨Colonial Monument of America¨, Antigua. The Volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango surround Antigua. It was founded in 1543 and partially destroyed in 1773 by the Santa Marta earthquake. There you will visit the Cathedral, the Colonial Museum, the Plaza de Armas, the Palace of the Captains-General, as well as numerous churches and monasteries. A visit to the local silver and jade factories, handicraft stores and other artisan centers. Return to your hotel.

Antigua Guatemala Full Day
In the morning depart from your hotel to Antigua Guatemala. This town was mostly destroyed in 1773 by the Santa Marta earthquake. In 1965 Antigua was declared ¨The Colonial Monument of America¨, by UNESCO. Go back 200 years, walking the cobblestoned streets and visit the Arms Plaza, The Palace of the Captains-General, the Cathedral, the Arms Museum, the Santa Clara and the Capuchinas monasteries, and La Merced Church. Chichicatenango & Lake Atitlan
An early morning departure to the Guatemalan Highlands along the Panamericana Highway to Chichicatenango. You will visit the Church of Santo Tomas, where you will personally witness the bending of two cultures: the pre-Hispanic and Catholic rituals celebrated in a church built on the remains of a Mayan temple some 400 years ago. Market Days, Thursdays and Sundays, acquire great significance as smoky incense impregnates the atmosphere with mysticism and religion. People barter their products and the market explodes with color, tradition and folklore. After lunch, your trip continues to Panajachel, a village lake on the shores of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, ¨Lake Atitlan¨. This lake is surrounded by twelve Indian villages and protected by three towering volcanoes. In the late afternoon return to Guatemala City.

Tikal Full Day
At 05:00 a.m., transfer from your hotel to the local airport to take the flight to Flores. On arrival at Santa Elena airport, a guide will take you to Tikal National Park. Visit the Main Plaza, The Central and Northern Acropolis, the Mundo Perdido complex and Temple IV, from where you will be able to secure a most spectacular view of the other temples and the vast emerald-green jungle. Lunch included. After a visit to the local museum where you can appreciate exhibits of ceramics and jade found during the excavations made by the University of Pennsylvania. Transfer to the airport aboard the flight back to Guatemala City. On arrival transfer to your hotel.

Copan Full Day
At 04:30 a.m., depart from hotel towards the country's eastern desert area and then to the border of Honduras. After crossing, continue to the impressive Mayan ruins of Copan. Here you will see some of the most beautiful steles made by the Mayas. Explore the Ball Court complex, dated 775 A.D.; and the hieroglyphic stairway, a structure composed of approximately 2500 blocks carved with glyphs. There will be time to visit other buildings around the Ceremonial Court. In the late afternoon return to Guatemala City and transfer to your hotel.

Day 01
At 6:00 a.m., depart from your hotel; you will begin your trip east, towards the Honduras border. After completing immigration formalities, continue to the impressive Mayan ruins of Copan. Copan is dated about 775 A.C. and it is considered to have been a ¨Cosmic Observation Center¨, there you can admire altars and magnificent steles, the most perfect known Ball Court of the Classic Maya, as well as the hieroglyphic Stairway and Temples spread over 75 acres area, surrounded by a lush tropical vegetation. Take a morning boat ride across the lake to Santiago Atitlan, one of the 12th tiny Indian villages surrounding the lake. Day 05 Sunday
Today is market day at one of the country's largest open-air markets. Transfer to Chichicastenango; along the way, you will catch a glimpse of the hand-cultivated fields, emerald green mountains and valleys. Observe the religious ceremonies held by Indians on the steps of the 400 years old Church of Santo Tomas. It is a day of color. In the afternoon transfer to Antigua Guatemala. Today a morning departure for a voyage down Rio Dulce, passing by the Chocon Machacas Reserve, an almost untouched tropical forest as well known Manatee-Refuge. The area is rich with lush vegetation and tropical sea birds. Traveling along the waterways and over jungle paths, you will have the opportunity to observe and photograph the varied species of exotic flora and fauna. You may even be lucky enough to see the rare manatee, which inhabits the waters. Continue our journey along the river as it flows through a giant forge between great green cliffs. Sail down to the castle of San Felipe de Lara, a fortress constructed by the Spanish in 1652, to keep pirates out of Lake Izabal. After visiting the fortress, return to Livingston. NATURE EXTENSION
Coban - Semuc Champei - Caves of Lanquin - Biotopo del Quetzal
Day 01
Departure from Guatemala City towards the city of Coban in the orchid region of Alta Verapaz. On the way, you will first enjoy a walk through the ¨Biotopo del Quetzal¨, in Purulha, where, with a bit of luck you may be able to appreciate the national bird the ¨Quetzal¨, in it's natural rainforest. Visit the nearby cave of Chicoy, which is used by the indigenous people for religious ceremonies. Visit the ¨Pozo Vivo¨, (Living Well) and Chi-Ixim Church in Tactic. In the afternoon, we shall visit the Imperial City of Coban, the Cathedral and the church of El Calvario, located on the top of the hill with an extraordinary view over the city and its surroundings. Overnight in Coban.

Day 02
In the morning depart towards Semuc Champey on a stone-dirt road, which offers extraordinary views of the valleys and the mountains of the ¨Sierra Chama¨. Near the Calcareous scattered crystalline water basin formed by mountain streams; each basin cascading towards the Cahabon River, whose turbulent waters run through a tunnel underneath such basins. You will have some time to swim and enjoy a picnic. In the afternoon, visit the cave of stalactites and stalcmietes of Lanquin with a total length of 150 kilometers. Return to spend the night in Coban.

Day 03
Departure to the town of San Pedro Carcha, which is famous for its silver filigree-works. There, we will visit a nursery of orchids. In the afternoon return to Guatemala City.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOURS

VO01 - UAXACTUN FULL DAY
In the morning you will be picked-up at your local hotel in Flores. You will be visiting the archaeological site of Uaxactun, located 15 miles away from Tikal. It is outstanding, because of its observatory, which was used by the Mayan people in their advanced astronomic research. Box lunch. In the afternoon return to your hotel.

VO02 - YAXHA FULL DAY
In the morning depart from your hotel in Flores to visit the archaeological site of Yaxha. While most of the ceremonial centers of the Classical period reveal an essentially non-urban arrangement; in Yaxha, two sectors have been found that are laid out in a town like network and lined with structures arranged in block-like quadrangles and of high density. This feature, plus the fact that the site evidences an influence from Teotihuacan in its stelae and architecture, seems to indicate that the street layout was adopted from them. An unpaved road provides access to ¨Yaxha¨from Flores. Box Lunch. In the afternoon return to your hotel.

VO03 - YAXCHILAN FULL DAY
Early morning departure from your hotel in Flores to ¨Bethel¨, located 40 kilometers away. Upon arrival you will travel by boat through the Usumacinta River. On the banks of the ¨Usumacinta River¨, is ¨Yaxchilan¨, with its temples hidden by the dense vegetation. This great ceremonial center is still visited by the Lacandon Maya on their pilgrimages from outlaying areas in Guatemala's El Peten jungle. Yaxchilan was thought to have been ever larger than it's contemporary Palenque. Up to date 120 buildings have been identified in the nucleus of the city alone. Here you will find the Grand Plaza, which is comprised of the Great and Small Acropolis or Fortified Citadel and Temple 33. Yaxchilan´s most notable features are the fine carved stelaes and dintels over the doors on the main buildings. Important events in the city's history are commemorated in theses bas-relief sculptures: Sacrificial ceremonies and the origins and greatness of the Pajaro Jaguar (Bird Jaguar) dynasty, which took the city-state to its great heights. Yaxchilan was an important trading center, controlling the commercial route along the Usumacinta River. Box lunch will be provided in the site. After lunch we will begin our return to Flores, arriving late in the afternoon. Transfer to your hotel.

VO04 - CEIBAL FULL DAY
Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Flores and depart to Sayaxche, a commercial town on La Pasion River shore, where you will take a boat ride to the archeological site of Ceibal, visiting Complex A with temples and stelaes, which show evidence of a peaceful Toltec invasion to these Mayan Ruins. The stelaes shows both cultures living in harmony during the late Classic Period. In the afternoon return to Flores.

VO05 - AGUATECA FULL DAY
Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Flores. Leave to Sayaxche in the shores of the La Pasion River to board a motorized canoe to ¨Arroyo Aguateca¨, to visit the archaeological site of Aguateca. Here we will see several impressive stelaes in this exotic jungle overlooking the lagoon, particularly stelae 2 (of the Late Classic period) which are magnificent. Box Lunch. After lunch leave to Sayaxche, then board the vehicles for a two-hour drive to Flores. Transfer to your hotel.

Departure from Flores to Sayaxche. Upon arrival board a motorized canoe to navigate along the ¨Rio La Pasion¨, passing through Pipiles up to the Usumacinta River that borders Chiapas, Mexico and arriving at Bethel. Box lunch en route. Overnight Posada Maya camp. Dinner.

Day 02
Breakfast. Departure from our camp to Bethel, checking immigration at ¨Corozal¨, border. Continue upwards along the Usumacinta River arriving at ¨Yaxchilan¨. Yaxchilan was thought to have been even larger than its contemporary Palenque. To date 120 buildings have been identified in the nucleus of the city alone. Here you will find the Grand Plaza, comprised of the Great and Small Acropolis or Fortified citadel and Temple 33. TWO NIGHTS
Day 01
Arrival at Flores airport to pick-up from your hotel. Departure to Sayaxche to board motorized long wooden boats with thatched roofs, and navigates along the Rio La Pasion. You will visit the ancient Mayan site of ¨Ceibal¨, the ¨Ceibal¨; stelaes are among the finest and best-preserved sculptures of the Late Classical period. Ceibal to Petexbatun Lagoon to Punta Chimino. Check into our rustic but comfortable Posada Petexbatun. Dinner.

Day 02
Breakfast. Full Day tour to ¨Dos Pilas¨, the site of a recently discovered royal tomb, this ¨Lost City¨, covers one square mile, and its largely intact. ¨Dos Pilas¨ owes its name to two puddles shaped like tanks, which are located close to each other. Box Lunch. Overnight accommodations at Posada Petexbatun. Dinner.

Day 03
Breakfast. Today we will visit the archaeological site of ¨Aguateca¨; here you will see several impressive stelaes in this exotic site overlooking the lagoon, particularly stelae II. Lunch. After lunch leave to Sayaxche to board the vehicles to Flores. On arrival transfer to your hotel.
